School on Symbolic Dynamics
This spring school focuses on symbolic dynamics and its connections with other areas of mathematics. The program is divided into three courses, each exploring a different aspect of the field. They will all be divided into three theoretical classes and an exercise session.
The first course provides an introduction to symbolic dynamics, presenting some of the classical results and fundamental concepts of the subject.
The second course explores the connections between dynamical systems and decidability problems, highlighting how dynamical questions can be related to questions in logic and theoretical computer science.
The third course focuses on connections between symbolic dynamics and combinatorics, introducing combinatorial methods and structures that arise naturally in the study of symbolic systems.
Together, the three courses offer a broad overview of symbolic dynamics, from its classical foundations to its interactions with logic, computation, and combinatorics.
